Manchester United won a potentially tricky fixture against Southampton yesterday afternoon, with Louis van Gaal’s side coming from behind to take all three points in a tight affair. The fans will be extremely pleased with the three points, leaving United just two points adrift of the Premier League summit.
The performance as a whole was pretty good, but United owe huge thanks to Anthony Martial who scored two wonderful goals to turn the game on its head, and David de Gea whom made a couple of outstanding saves at key moments in the match.
Both of the players have earned their place in BBC man Garth Crooks’ Team of the Week, alongside the likes of Kurt Zouma, Dimitri Payet and Jamie Vardy.
The most pleasing aspect of the performance is that David de Gea has gotten straight down to business as usual despite his future being up in the air. His attitude is first class and who knows, he could well stay at the club beyond next season.
