Manchester United Football Club are stacked in the goalkeeper position. Without doubt, that’s by far their strongest area on the field right now.
However, that hasn’t stopped the Red Devils further strengthening in that area. According to Base Soccer Agency, 20-year-old Paul Woolston has made the move to Old Trafford, as you can see from the photo below.
Woolston was released by Newcastle United over the summer and has been at the Aon Training Complex on a trial period since. Now, after putting pen to paper, the goalkeeper is eligible to play for Ricky Sbragia’s U23 team.
Congratulations and good luck to @PAULHW_ who has signed a contract with @ManUtd after impressing on trial ? pic.twitter.com/svt27SYjxG

At his age, we never really know if he’s going to make it at the Theatre of Dreams. Right now, the odds are certainly stacked against him.
Let’s be honest, De Gea’s the best in the business, but it’s not only that, United have Sergio Romero who is an excellent back-up, while Lee Grant is a brilliant third-choice option.
Even at youth levels, Joel Pereira is a brilliant budding keeper, while Dean Henderson is making a name for himself out on loan. It’s not an easy road, and it’s fair to say that if Woolston does make it, he certainly would have earned it the hard way.
