Manchester United Football Club are all set and ready for the grand unveiling of the new ‘Sir Bobby Charlton Stand’, formerly Old Trafford’s South Stand. The fans will witness it in the flesh for the first time this weekend, as Louis van Gaal’s men take on Everton.
Sir Bobby Charlton won Manchester United its first Champions League crown all those years ago, and was one of the survivors of the Munich air disaster previous. He will always go down as one of the biggest heroes this game has ever seen, and as Manchester United fans we are absolutely privileged that he played for the club we love.
Sir Bobby Charlton is obviously one of the biggest legends this club and country has ever seen, but you just cannot help but feel the South Stand being renamed for him is somewhat of a sweetener to bring Jose Mourinho to Old Trafford this summer.
