Manchester United keep going from strength-to-strength under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, with the Red Devils certainly looking good at this point in time.
A fifteen game unbeaten run signifies that this squad is now looking pretty strong in terms of depth. However, the Baby Faced Assassin has stuck with the same starting XI for the last couple of Premier League fixtures – which is paying dividends.
Amongst the top performers is young Mason Greenwood. It was the talented-teen who kicked off the scoring against Brighton last night, with a truly incredible goal.
Many were left perplexed in the aftermath of the sweet right-footed strike, though, with Greenwood doing a celebration that we weren’t too familiar with.
Well, in the aftermath, we found that Greenwood was dedicating the goal to Angel Gomes, who is officially no longer a United player following his contract expiring yesterday.
The pair have come through the academy ranks together, tore up PL2 football and become really close friends. It’s a shame that one has to leave while the other flourishes, but I guess that’s the nature of the business.
Credit where it’s due. Greenwood has been dynamite recently and it has been a while since I’ve seen a teenager with his skillset and mindset. He has the potential to go right the way to the top of the English game – and watching him improve right before our eyes is pretty special.
Anyway, long may his development continue, while I don’t doubt that Gomes was extremely appreciative of the celebration. Class.
