PICTURE: Moyes to continue United tradition

David Moyes watched on as United’s U21s fell to local rivals Liverpool in a 4-2 defeat. Jesse Lingard and Larnell Cole provided the United goals. Adnan Januzaj put in another excellent performance, it surely won’t be long before the young Belgian gets his chance to impress in the United first team.

It was excellent to see Moyes and his coaching staff at the game last night, and it shows that he’ll certainly be looking to promote youth before looking elsewhere.

With our tough fixture list continuing till the end of September, the younger lads like Lingard and Januzaj will have to remain patient and await their chance. Perhaps the game against Crystal Palace will be a potential opportunity for them, if not, the Capital One Cup will be their aim.

The U21 squad looked very strong last night, with Michael Keane, Angelo Henriquez playing alongside the aforementioned duo of Januzaj and Lingard. The futures bright.
