PICTURE: Nick Powell voted Crewe’s best player of all time

Manchester United’s young starlet Nick Powell has been voted the best Crewe Alexandra player of all time, by his former clubs fans. The club conducted a vote to determine who their best ever player was, and Nick Powell came out on top with an impressive 34% of the fans vote.

Powell, 20, only played two seasons for Crewe’s first team, making 64 appearances for the club. He did play a huge part in them getting promoted to League One though, scoring 16 goals from midfield, including a wonder strike in the playoff final.

It seems odd that a player who has barely kicked a ball for United has been voted the best of all time by another club. When you factor in that he is just twenty years of age it makes it all the more impressive.

Powell has a bright future, but injuries have seemingly hampered him recently. If he can stay fit from now until the start of next season he may get the chance he deserves.
