Nick Powell made a blistering start to his Manchester United career when he scored a goal against Wigan Athletic on his debut last season. This year, he found himself on loan at the aforementioned Wigan Athletic, and he made a huge impression domestically and in Europe.
The 20-year old finished the season as their top scorer, scoring 12 goals in all competitions, including 3 goals in 6 Europa League games.
Powell is one of Manchester United’s biggest prospects, and at just 20-years of age the loan move would have done him the world of good. Playing regular football is an excellent experience, and he’ll have been learning all the time.
He has been rather unfortunate with injuries, but with Louis van Gaal keen on promoting youth, Nick Powell could well be one of the youngsters who’ll get their big chance next season.

With our midfielders seriously under performing, Powell could well find himself in the fold next season if he can stay fit and impress the new boss.

hope he becomes part of next season squad
Wigan fan here. Powell really isn’t that good, don’t want him at Wigan next year and you certainly shouldn’t want him at united.
Can’t say I watched any full Wigan games aside from the FA Cup semi-final. Was he really that bad?
First half of the season he seemed decent. Since christmas he has become completely useless. Shoots from stupid distances blazing over, never knows when to pass. Maybe his heart is just not in it now because he knows he’s going back to you men.
Wigan fan here. Hope he goes back to you. He is awful. Very over-rated.
