We all love Patrice Evra, don’t we? The former Manchester United left-back had been without a club, but today, West Ham confirmed that they’d signed him on a free transfer.
Now 36, Evra is obviously in his later years as a professional footballer, but you have to admire his hunger to carry on playing, particularly in the physical Premier League.

Let’s be honest, this is just weird. Seeing him holding aloft another English team’s jersey feels bizarre, but that’s football sometimes and if they’re paying him well enough then why not give it a shot?
This is a guy who won absolutely everything there is to win while at Old Trafford and he gave us some fantastic individual memories that’ll live in our hearts forever and I’ll certainly be keeping an eye on how West Ham are doing – particularly if Paddy is starting every week.
I wish him the best of luck and no doubt if he visits the Theatre of Dreams as an opposing player he’ll get a sensational reception. I love this game…
