Wayne Rooney is back available for selection once again, and Louis van Gaal has already confirmed that his captain will be restored into the starting line-up. His position is still up for debate though, due to the versatility of the England international coupled with Louis van Gaal’s tinkering when it comes to setting the team up.
The 4-3-3 worked extremely well against Chelsea, so it’d be foolish to change that. The back five were all brilliant, especially Chris Smalling upon his return and Luke Shaw down the left-hand side.
Marouane Fellaini and Daley Blind bossed the midfield of the park against the likes of Nemanja Matic and Cesc Fabregas, meaning both are shoe-ins to start. Juan Mata struggled, and the chances are that Wayne Rooney will replace him in the advanced midfielder role as he returns from his three game ban.
The front three should remain unchanged due to Radamel Falcao’s injury, Angel Di Maria speaks for himself, and Adnan Januzaj will still be looking for a decent run of games in the side.
