Manchester United will be looking to right a few wrongs this weekend, with Leicester City visiting Old Trafford for the first time since the humiliating 5-3 defeat early on in the season. With that in mind, Louis van Gaal’s team selection will be vital.
Despite him being as stubborn as he is, I’d be surprised if we see the 5-3-2 formation deployed this time out. We simply have to revert to the 4-4-2 that worked so well for us, and with pretty much every player fully fit and ready to go, we could get a better look at what Louis van Gaal sees as his strongest eleven.
David de Gea will obviously start in goal, with Marcos Rojo and Chris Smalling at the heart of the defence. Daley Blind and Antonio Valencia will play as wing-backs, with Michael Carrick in the holding midfielder role.
The midfield two is likely to be Marouane Fellaini and Angel di Maria, with Adnan Januzaj’s superb performance against Cambridge enough to guarantee himself a start. Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie should get the nod up front, leaving Radamel Falcao on the bench.
