PICTURE: Potential 5-3-2 for Man Utd vs Yeovil – Tom Thorpe starts

Manchester United head South to Huish Park for their FA Cup third round tie against Yeovil Town tomorrow, and Louis van Gaal will almost certainly see this as a game where he can blood in some more young stars of the future, but if he tinkers too much it could have a similar outcome to that of the MK Dons game.

I honestly think he’ll go for a nice blend of youth and experience. James Wilson is almost certain to start, and I reckon we could see Wayne Rooney start up front because he’s the youngest of our three senior strikers.

The back line is where I think we’ll see the most tinkering by Van Gaal. Tyler Blackett and Paddy McNair will definitely start if he opts for a back three, and there could well be a start for someone like Tom Thorpe who has flourished at U21 level.

It all depends on how Louis van Gaal wants to play it. Will he go for experience or youth? If he opts for youth then there definitely could be some debuts handed out to the likes of Ben Pearson and Joe Rothwell etc.
