Manchester United refocus their attentions on league football tomorrow, with a huge clash away at West Ham in the offing. Both sides have been in decent form of late, with Sam Allardyce’s West Ham certainly up there for one of the over performing sides of the season so far.
Louis van Gaal’s team selection is crucial, hence why I expect him to revert to the more defensively solid 5-3-2 formation which everyone seems to have taken a disliking towards.
The three centre-backs should include Paddy McNair and Marcos Rojo, with that third slot a toss-up between Phil Jones and Chris Smalling. They’ll have Luke Shaw and Antonio Valencia bombing up the wing either side of them.
Daley Blind will be the holding midfielder, with Angel di Maria and Wayne Rooney playing as out-and-out central midfielders. The deadly duo of Radamel Falcao and Robin van Persie were very successful against Leicester last weekend, so why break up a partnership that is clearly blooming?
