Manchester United can capitalise on Chelsea’s 2-1 loss to Newcastle yesterday, by taking all three points away at Southampton this Monday night. There is probably no better time to play Koeman’s side, as their injury-hit squad is suffering at the moment – particularly in the middle of the park. When you couple that with their back-to-back losses, they are there for the taking.
Louis van Gaal hasn’t tinkered too much over the past few games, and once again that must continue. The make-shift back four have done a superb job of late, with Michael Carrick sitting in front of them and protecting.
I expect Wayne Rooney to return, but the other striker spot is definitely up for grabs. I reckon Van Gaal will go with James Wilson after a superb performance midweek against Stoke City.
