Well, we were made to wait for it, but Raphael Varane is a Man Utd player!
What a day. Manchester United stuck five past Leeds United. Jadon Sancho made his debut. Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes looked bang at it throughout. Fans were back in the Old Trafford stadium.
To top it all off, Raphael Varane’s move to Manchester United was officially confirmed. The Frenchman would be unveiled to the Theatre of Dreams just prior to kick-off, and he looked absolutely buzzing to be at his new club.
It was the perfect signing announcement. Varane was greeted by his new home fans and it definitely set the tone for a brilliant day.
After he held up his shirt for the Old Trafford Faithful, Varane was spotted taking a quick selfie – and what a photo it was, complete with a jam-packed Stretford End. He’d send a short but sweet hello message to his new supporters.

Suddenly, this transfer feels very real. Varane is here and he’s ours. Now it’s about getting up to speed as quickly as possible and challenging Victor Lindelof for that starting job.
Beating out the Ice Man will not be easy, mind. Lindelof was outstanding against Leeds United today in pretty much every aspect. I don’t think it’s a foregone conclusion that Varane will step in and replace him straight away.
I guess it’s all about how quickly Varane can get the training minutes in the tank and just how sharp he looks in training. The good thing for Solskjaer is that he doesn’t have to rush into it.
Bonjour, Raphael! I think you’re gonna’ love it here.
