Picture: Rashford all-smiles after winning Man United Player of the Month

Manchester United have been brilliant since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took charge. That much is obvious.

Perhaps the biggest beneficiary is Marcus Rashford. The Wythenshawe-born-forward has been simply sensational after being allowed to play in his favoured striker position, and that’s all thanks to the Baby Faced Assassin.

Rashford has scored goals galore in January, including an excellent winner away at Tottenham Hotspur and an equally impressive strike away at Leicester City.

He has been rampant, and for his performances, Rashford has managed to beat out Paul Pogba in the hunt to win United’s Player of the Month award.

Today, Rashford was presented the honour by Game of Thrones actor, John Bradley-West, and the striker looked absolutely chuffed after an excellent month.

This is genuinely the best form Rashford has ever displayed over a prolonged period of time. So-much-so that Romelu Lukaku has largely been left on the bench.

The two are different strikers, but in the modern-day game, pace and the ability to stretch opposing defences is the key to unlocking matches and scoring goals. Right now, this is a stunning purple patch from Rashford and at this moment I’d say he’s the best striker in the country.

Long may that continue, and congratulations, Marcus!
