Rasmus Hojlund was the sole Man United player named in the latest BBC Team of the Week after the Red Devils edged past Luton Town at Kenilworth Road.
Manchester United continued their positive start to 2024 over the weekend, as Erik Ten Hag’s side managed to squeeze past Luton Town on Sunday. The Old Trafford club won 2-1 after an electric start to the game.
Rasmus Hojlund would score two quick goals to set his side up for a successful afternoon, though credit to our opponents, who continued to fight and forced their way back into proceedings. It eventually proved to be a tight game against tough opposition, resulting in the Reds hanging on at times.
At the end of the day, all that matters is the three points. United got the job done and were the ones left celebrating at full-time.
For his performance, the aforementioned Hojlund was the sole United star named in the latest BBC Team of the Week. It’s nice to see the Dane getting some well-deserved recognition after a top display.

The BBC’s Garth Crooks was rightly full of praise for the 21-year-old striker. He continues to improve with each passing game, despite being given very little service. If he can score goals in this environment, he can score goals under any circumstances.
If the likes of Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes and Alejandro Garnacho start delivering some better balls into the ex-Atalanta man, we could have a scary-good prospect on our hands – and someone who is capable of leading the line for the next decade.
He’s now starting to show that consistency, too, becoming the youngest United player to score in six consecutive Premier League games. He joins Ruud van Nistelrooy, Cristiano Ronaldo and Eric Cantona to achieve the feat. That is quite the list!
Credit must go to Ten Hag, too. This is looking like an astute piece of business at this early stage of Hojlund’s United career.
