Robin van Persie has taken to Instagram to thank Manchester United fans for their continued support despite the bad run of results at the moment. We’ve lost five of seven since the turn of the year, and hopes for a spot in the top four are going fast. However the return of Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney could change things.
United need to start winning, and fast. The gap between Liverpool stands at seven points, and by my calculations we need to win 11 of our last 14 games if we want any chance of finishing in a Champions League spot (yelp!). With tricky games against City, Arsenal, Liverpool and Everton all to come, it’ll probably take a capitulation from three teams above us if we’re being realistic.
Robin van Persie made it two goals in two games since his return, and he’ll have to keep up that kind of form as we enter the business end of the season.
