Manchester United put in the perfect away performance from back to front last night, and that was finally rewarded with a much-needed three points when Ashley Young converted from a Newcastle United error. The game was marred by one incident midway through the first half, however.
Jonny Evans and Papiss Cisse were embroiled in a tussle, as legs got tangled up after a strong challenge between the pair. They both stood up and squared up to each other, when our centre-back looked like he spat at the Senegalese striker. Shortly after, Cisse returned the favour by spitting back at Evans in a disgusting piece of behaviour on both their parts.
According to several reports this morning, the duo are staring at a six game retrospective ban, and for me this punishment is fair. There is no place for that behaviour on a football field, and it truly is a disgusting act.
