Today, Manchester United legend Sir Bobby Charlton carried the Olympic Torch past Old Trafford, as part of the build-up to the Olympic Games next month. The torch will be carried by 8,000 different people including celebrities and members of the general public.
Sir Bobby Charlton, one of the legendary United trinity had this to say:
“This time in the morning. It’s staggering isn’t it? But they like to be part of it and it’s just a happy time,” he continued. “I’m so proud and so pleased. It’s something that we worked for and it’s culminated in a fantastic time. We were so pleased when it happened. It’s has just been terrific,”
