Manchester United continued their excellent Premier League form at the weekend with a rather convincing 2-0 victory over Swansea City at Old Trafford.
From the get-go, the hosts were on the front-foot, with Jose Mourinho’s men pushing bodies forward in order to make the early breakthrough. Within five minutes Manchester United had found the lead as Romelu Lukaku struck past Lukasz Fabianski in the Swansea goal. The assist coming from Alexis Sanchez.
Not too long after Sanchez went from provider to scorer, as he latched onto an excellent Jesse Lingard through ball before firing past the onrushing goalkeeper.
For his performance, Manchester United’s new #7 was awarded a place in WhoScored’s Premier League Team of the Week; and rightly so.

His 8.4 rating on WhoScored’s system is more than justified. We’ve already alluded to the goals, but it was his overall play that greatly impressed me.
Sanchez’s work-rate is on another level to the rest of the United squad, and his sheer desire, drive and willingness to work for the team (on both sides of the ball) deserves endless amounts of credit.
Hopefully, this is a sign of things to come from Sanchez, and we’ll certainly need him to be at his best if we’re to win the FA Cup this term.
