Manchester United’s place in the Champions League last sixteen is already secure. Jose Mourinho may take this opportunity to get a look at some other players.
From what the manager has said previously, Paul Pogba will start this one, while I wouldn’t be surprised to see Andreas Pereira and Sergio Romero in the team.
Today, surprisingly, pictures of both Mason Greenwood and James Garner emerged, as the pair were taking part in first-team training.
To further add to that, both have travelled with the squad to take on Valencia in Spain tomorrow night; and what an opportunity they both could be given…
What a journey these two young men have had, particularly Greenwood, who is enjoying a stunning season for United at youth level.
The speedy attacker could add another dimension to this squad, and he couldn’t be shining at a better time, especially given how toothless we’ve looked up front at times this season.
Do I think either of these guys will play? They could be in with an outside shot of making their debuts, but I’d imagine it would only be off the substitutes bench, rather than a start…
I guess the only downside is that there is no place for Angel Gomes or Tahith Chong, but make no mistake about it, they’ll get their opportunity.
