PICTURE: Three Reds feature in WhoScored’s drop in ratings XI

It has certainly been a season to forget for Manchester United fans, with many of our highest paid superstars largely under-performing throughout the season. The stat men at WhoScored, have come up with this starting XI of players who have undergone the biggest drop in ratings in comparison to last season.

it comes as no surprise that the below XI of players features three from Manchester United, more than any other club. The trio of Robin van Persie, Ashley Young and Marouane Fellaini have seen their ratings drop by almost 1.5 points on average per game.

It was always going to be tough for Robin to reach the dizzy heights he managed last season, and although he has scored a few important goals this season, his performance levels have clearly dropped.

Ashley Young has been limited in terms of minutes this year, and most of his appearances have come off the bench. He has failed to deliver though, and every time he has the ball he seems to give up possession far too cheaply.

Marouane Fellaini has been a disaster from the word go, and hasn’t come close to justifying the hefty price tag. He looks the shadow of the player he was at Everton last season, but perhaps thats down to the varying tactics between the sides.
