PICTURE: United U21s finish season in style

In what was officially United’s last game of the season, our U21s went out in style; Coming from 2 down at half-time to take the game 3-2 after a thrilling second half. Larnell Cole has now scored five goals in his last two outings, including a brace last night.

Tottenham came out of the blocks rapidly and took the lead through Jon Obika, their lead was doubled towards the end of the first half when Obika played Pritchard in, who smashed the ball home. This left United with a mountain to climb.

A different United came out in the second half though, we had intent, we were fighting for every ball, we wanted it – Its the United way. We scored our first through right-back Marnick Vermijl after a lovely pass from Ryan Tunnicliffe – the comeback was on.

United had all the momentum now, and with fifteen minutes remaining Larnell Cole levelled the scoring, before adding a late winner three minutes from time. Ensuring the trophy stayed in Manchester.

Adnan Januzaj had another superb game, his passing, vision and his willingness to work for his teammates was absolutely superb to watch. I wouldn’t be surprised if he got a run out in the Capital One Cup next season.
