Have we ever seen such a meteoric fall from grace in the world of professional sport? This time last year United were cruising to their 20th Premier League title, whilst not knowing the greatest manager of all time was to call it quits at the end of the season. A hell of a lot has changed since then.
David Moyes took over the reigns, and he’s struggled from day one. We’ve lost nine league games already which is more than we’ve ever lost at this stage previously. As you can see from the graphic below, we’ve never been outside of the top three at this stage since the Premier League was formed in 1992. We currently sit seventh with 48 points on the board, six less than the second worst total which came back in 1992-93.
