Manchester United Football Club had a weekend to forget, as they slipped even further off the Premier League pace, while Manchester City reclaimed their place at the top.
One player who is having a better season on a personal level is Victor Lindelof. The one they call the Ice Man has now become a regular at the heart of Jose Mourinho’s defence, and he deserves all the plaudits that are coming his way.
Today, the official club website revealed that the 24-year-old has been named Swedish Player of the Year for 2018; and what an honour that is.

Ironically, this trophy had been won by a certain Zlatan Ibrahimovic for the last decade, and it’s only fitting that another United player replaces him.
It’s just a testament to the work and effort that Lindelof has put in. It all started over the summer with a terrific World Cup campaign, and he has brought that confidence back with him to Old Trafford.
Now, the search goes on for finding him a partner. Personally, I’d love to see Eric Bailly given more playing time, but recent reports suggest that Mourinho is actually looking to move the Ivorian on in January, so we’ll have to wait and see what happens…
