Old Trafford plays host to Wayne Rooney’s Manchester United testimonial this evening, as our club captain celebrates his time at one of the biggest clubs in world football. He opted to take on his boyhood club Everton, in what will prove to be an excellent game.
Ahead of the match, United had a surprise for our 30-year-old forward, as they unveiled a fitting mosaic in the Sir Alex Ferguson Stand.
Rooney has given us some great memories over the years, from that stunning overhead kick against Manchester City, to that brilliant strike from almost at the halfway line away at West Ham. The most important thing is his trophy haul, and Wazza has won the lot.
Check out the photo of the mosaic here:

Wayne goes into the season in another different position under a new manager, with Jose openly admitting that he sees Rooney’s future as a #10 or a #9 but never a #6.
Enjoy the evening, Wayne. Thanks for the twelve years of service and hopefully a few more to come yet.
