Pictures: Alexis Sanchez wearing Inter Milan kit for first time

After a torrid eighteen months in Manchester, Alexis Sanchez has finally departed from United – albeit only on a loan basis at this point in time…

The Chilean’s struggles have been well documented, largely due to his ridiculously expensive weekly wage. Sure, injuries haven’t helped his case but I think it’s fair to say we all expected better than what we’ve seen from the Chilean.

Well, he’s now an Inter Milan player for the next nine months. It provides the 30-year-old with an opportunity to prove he’s still an elite player despite his incredibly poor form of late…

Inter’s official Twitter account have now shared the first photos of Sanchez in their club colours and kit – and it’s fair to say it feels a little odd seeing him in something other than United red.

I couldn’t be happier that Sanchez has left. Sure, the chance are he’ll be back here over the summer, but the effect he has had on that dressing room has only been a negative one. He can no longer bring morale down as he’s no longer in and around the club…

The only stinger is the fact that United will likely be paying a large chunk of his wages. At the end of the day, the Red Devils have made their own bed in that regard as they overpaid him massively when the swap deal, sending Henrikh Mkhitaryan the other way, went through…

Now it’s about Sanchez finding his feet and (hopefully) tempting someone into buying him permanently in the summer of 2020.

Good luck, Alexis.
