Remember the name, Amad Diallo.
Manchester United Football Club had to wait until January to get their man, with a deal for Amad Diallo not going through quick enough back on deadline day last summer.
Well, the young Ivorian is finally here and he’s certainly hit the ground running. He’s already played two U23 matches, scoring three, assisting three. To be brutally honest, Diallo looks a cut above that level.
To the surprise of nobody, Diallo would make his first senior United squad this evening, as the Red Devils take on West Ham United in an FA Cup clash.
As you’d expect, photos of Diallo, sporting club gear, warming up on the old Trafford pitch emerged pretty quickly…
Check out the snaps of Amad Diallo warming up on the Old Trafford turf here:
This is the start of hopefully a long, trophy-laden spell at the Theatre of Dreams. To be honest, I’d be surprised if he gets on the pitch tonight, but this is no doubt brilliant for his confidence levels.
If you’ve watched him play for the U23s you’ll know the talent is so obviously there. It’s down to Solskjaer and that United staff to develop that talent and coach the absolute maximum out of him.
The good news for Diallo is that he plays in a position where United aren’t blessed with massive depth. If the 18-year-old can somehow prove his worth this season, it may end any potential whispers about signing Jadon Sancho when the summer comes around.
Welcome to Old Trafford, Amad! It all starts now for you.
