Man United players have been working hard in training ahead of Young Boys away.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United begin their Champions League campaign this evening, in Switzerland against the Young Boys of Bern.
Although the draw has been kind to us, the worst thing we can do is take any opponent lightly. No doubt the hosts will be keen to put on a show for their home fans – so it’s up to United to ensure they’re ready.
It’s always nice to kick things off on the right foot in Europe so I’d imagine Solskjaer will go with a relatively strong starting line-up here. That said, whoever plays, I’d like to think we have more than enough quality to get the job done.
Ahead of the game, photos of United players in training have been doing the rounds on social media, with none other than Ronaldo leading the way as per usual.
Check out the snaps here:
Whether or not Ronaldo will start this one is an entirely different debate, particularly after playing 90 minutes on Tuesday. Personally, I’d suspect he’ll be on the bench here – and ready to come on if needed.
That said, you look at the quality in that photo. This feels like a top opportunity to get Jesse Lingard and Donny van de Beek some minutes, while Anthony Martial also feels like a good contender to start.
Football is now a squad game more than it ever has been before, so why not utilise that to the maximum ahead of a key league game against West Ham United this weekend?
I feel like we’ve been pretty underwhelming in the Champions League for a while now, so this is the perfect opportunity to send out a message to our European rivals this term.
