Cristiano Ronaldo broke another record last night.
We could never get bored when talking about Cristiano Ronaldo – despite the Portugal superstar dominating our website for the last week or so…
Well last night, the 36-year-old was at it again. This time, Ronaldo became the highest goalscorer in international football history. He’d score his 110th and 111th goals for Portugal, the second deep into injury time, to give his country a much-needed victory.
Two fantastic headers completely made everyone forget about the first-half penalty miss, with Ronaldo showing his mettle on the highest stage once more.
Ronaldo would pick up a booking following the removal of his shirt which does spell good news for United. More on that here.
After the game, there was time for some celebration, with Ronaldo all-smiles with the match-ball as he made history yet again. What a player. What a masterstroke it was by United to bring him home.

Honestly, I still pinch myself every single time I remember that Ronaldo is coming home.
It’s truly unbelievable that he’s a United player again and if these two late goals were anything to go by, we’re still getting a footballer who is more than capable of propelling this talented squad to glory.
Some say he’s past it, others think the experience he now has makes him an even better footballer. I sit somewhere in the middle. He’s elite. He always has been elite. He makes this United squad better.
Ronaldo will be arriving at the Theatre of Dreams full of confidence. His journey starts in nine days time when the Red Devils take on Newcastle United at Old Trafford. I can’t wait to see him back in United colours again. That Stretford End roar is going to be particularly special.
Welcome home Ronnie, and congratulations!
