Pictures: Dean Henderson back in Man United training following Covid-19

Dean Henderson is finally back in Man United training – providing the Red Devils with a welcome boost ahead of Wolves away.

Manchester United dropped an absolute bombshell yesterday, announcing the return of Cristiano Ronaldo, though in amongst all the madness, it was forgotten that the Reds have a game to play tomorrow.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer met the media, giving us the all-important team news, confirming that four first-teamers will be missing through injury.

However, there was one team news boost that did go under the radar – the return to first-team training of Dean Henderson, following his bout of Covid-19.

The Englishman didn’t feature at all in pre-season after contracting the virus, while the aftereffects were giving him a pretty torrid time afterwards. Now, he seems to be over the worst of it with Hendo now back out there on the training field.

Check out the snap of the 24-year-old star working hard (via @Manutd) here:

For the moment, it looks as though Henderson has just been doing some individual work as he builds up the fitness levels – meaning there’s probably zero chance he’s back on the bench against Wolves this weekend.

However, he’ll now have the opportunity to get two solid weeks of training under his belt due to the international break which is great news. It gives him a fortnight to get fully up to speed and maybe finally start to realise his potential.

I truly believe that Henderson will take over as the undisputed number one at some point over the next twelve months. That’s just how good he is. This is the first step back on that path for the 24-year-old, who will have to be at his best to usurp David de Gea as numero uno.
