This is not a drill. Fred is in the building. Manchester United’s new signing arrived in California last night, and today, he was put through his paces in training for the first time.
Our new midfield maestro, signed from Shakhtar Donetsk, will be expecting big things at Old Trafford. Aged 25, Fred is rapidly approaching the peak of his footballing powers, and no doubt he’ll be hoping to take to the Red Devils style like a duck to water.
To see him in training for the first time is an excellent confidence-booster, particularly after injury meant we didn’t get to see him play during the World Cup. Now, it looks as though his debut appearance could be just around the corner…

Midfield has been a problem area recently. Marouane Fellaini is a decent squad option to have, but he isn’t a regular starter. Fred could well cement his name as one of the first on the team-sheet if he does hit the ground running; something which he is certainly capable of doing.
Next up for United? Liverpool. What a place to potentially make your debut, albeit only a friendly game, the rivalry will still be strong and tensions will remain unbelievably high.
