Manchester United’s Australia leg of their tour in the Far East is now over. The Red Devils won two games from two in Perth, with the latter against Leeds coming in pretty convincing fashion.
The squad now jet out to Singapore to begin their International Champions Cup campaign, in which the Old Trafford outfit will start to test themselves against some of the best sides in football.
Yesterday, one thing went unnoticed. As he was leaving the field, 26-year-old Jesse Lingard shared an incredibly special moment with a young fan who was holding up a sign asking for his shirt.
As you can see from the photos below, the reactions are just priceless. Just look at how much it means to the fan and his mother. This is truly what football is all about.
Lingard has come in for his fair share of criticism of late but you cannot deny he’s always been superb with the fans. The Warrington-born-winger knows exactly what it means to the supporters, particularly over in Australia as they don’t get to see their heroes very often.
Well played, Jesse. That fan and his whole family have a memory they’ll never forget throughout their lifetime, and it really was beautiful to see.
