Jesse Lingard has jokingly reacted to teaching Cristiano Ronaldo how to do the iconic ‘JLingz’ celebration.
Manchester United Football Club are gearing up for a massive game against Villareal this evening.
After losing last time out in Europe, the Old Trafford club are desperate for a massive victory here. Not only will it drag us back into contention in our Champions League group, it’ll also be a mini-revenge for losing in the Europa League final.
United are on a bit of a poor run, losing three in their last four. However, judging by the training photos yesterday, the mood around the camp is good.
One scene, in particular, made me chuckle, as Jesse Lingard was spotted teaching a certain Cristiano Ronaldo how to do his ‘JLingz’ celebration.
Check out Lingard’s tweet here:
It still feels so surreal that Ronaldo is a Red Devil. His start to life back in Manchester has been largely positive, too.
No doubt he’s the leader of this team now, however, he cannot do it all on his own and he’ll need help from fringe players like Lingard.
For what it’s worth, I genuinely believe it was smart keeping Lingard around. This is someone who can dip in and out of the team and contribute in the big spots – just look at his goal against West Ham as a prime example of that.
Now, it’s about being stood up to be counted and playing our best stuff with backs against the wall. It’s not going to be easy this evening but a defeat here would be a colossal blow.
There’s every chance both of these guys start against Villareal later, so it’s good to know they’re enjoying working with each other on the training field.
