After covering a story yesterday from ESPN’s Rob Dawson, who reported that both Romelu Lukaku and Anthony Martial missed training yesterday, it seems as though today normal service is resumed.
The reasons as to why the duo wasn’t involved on Thursday remains unknown, but if they were suffering from injury concerns, it couldn’t have been anything major as they were back amongst the group in full training on Friday.
Their return to action comes just 24 hours or so before the Red Devils’ first tour game against Perth Glory tomorrow, as United look to build up those all-important match fitness levels ahead of the start of the Premier League next month.
For anyone who has been following the site for a fair amount of time, you’ll know how pivotal I believe getting a full pre-season under your belt is.
If you go into the season half-fit, there’s a real chance you’ll never fully recover, particularly in this country as the gruelling schedule is a massive factor.
I think it must have just been a precaution when both Lukaku and Martial weren’t involved in the open session yesterday, but it’s definitely more important for the former; whose Manchester United future remains up in the air…
Anyway, it’s good to see the lads back in action!
