Since Manchester United have changed their kit manufacturers to Adidas, it’s fair to say our kits have looked far nicer.
Both home and away jerseys are just much simpler – and sometimes, less is more.
Personally, I’ve always been a fan of those throwback kits. Like this season’s home top which has the 1999 feel about it. Well today, according to the usually reliable Footy headlines, another throwback jersey is set to be released.
As you can see from the pictures below, this is an absolute thing of beauty. It really does bring the memories flooding back, and what’s even better is that there’s no shirt sponsor plastered across the front.
Instead, it’s plain, complete with old-school collar and sleeves and it’s set to be released today – although only in a long-sleeve version.
It is a limited edition which will be a part of the Adidas ‘Icon collection’ so we’re not sure how long they’ll be around for/available for, so if you like it, the chances are it’ll disappear pretty quickly (act fast!),
This is the sort of stuff I’d actually wear as opposed to the modern-day kits. This and the old 1968 blue throwback that they did are my two favourites from recent releases – so hopefully, Adidas will keep giving us more retro gear like this stunner going forward!
