Ralf Rangnick has been putting his players through their paces in training ahead of our penultimate home game this season.
Manchester United have nothing left to play for but pride. A spot in the 2022/23 Champions League is nothing but a pipedream as things stand.
With four games left, it’s about time that Ralf Rangnick gave some chances to the future generation. After all, they’ve been playing brilliantly at both U23 and U18 level. At the very least, you know these boys will give it their all, which is all us fans ask for.
As we gear up towards the end of the campaign, we’re starting to see more and more of the next generation being given their chance with the senior squad.
In yesterday’s session, there was a young United foursome given their opportunities to impress ahead of the Chelsea game; Hannibal Mejbri, Shola Shoretire, Alejandro Garnacho and Will Fish.
Check out the photos of the lads in action (via @ManUtd) here:
These guys have all been on the edge of the first-team for a few months now – and rightly so.
Garnacho, in particular, is really starting to make a name for himself of late. Not only has he received an Argentina call-up aged just seventeen, but this boy is already pushing for minutes at the biggest club in England.
Hannibal is the one we probably know the most about. The midfielder’s stock continues to rise after some incredible U23 displays. With Paul Pogba on his way out, you really feel like the next twelve months is going to be massive for him.
Fish and Shoretire are as homegrown as they come. These lads play at centre-back and midfield respectively and I’d Fish is the most first-team ready out of the lot.
While throwing them into the deep end against Chelsea may not be the wisest idea, I would love to see all of these boys given some minutes before the end of the season. It’s the least they deserve.
