Man United have released some new photos of Raphael Varane in Reds colours – and the Frenchman looked delighted.
Well, it definitely took a little longer than we’d all have liked, but Raphael Varane is a Manchester United player.
His official unveiling on the Old Trafford turf was pretty spectacular, with the Frenchman receiving a super warm welcome from his new supporters.
Now today, United confirmed that the move was 100% complete, with Varane involved in training with his new teammates for the first time this week.
Earlier today, the official club Twitter account finally released the photos we’d all been waiting for; Varane in Reds colours, all-smiles, as he begins this new chapter of his career.

First things first, this United kit definitely suits Varane! I also like the fact that he took the number 19, though I’m sure at some point, he’d like to move onto Phil Jones’ number 4.
What I like most about this move is that Varane just looks delighted to be here. The word on the grapevine is that he’s a United fan and has been since he was little. What an honour it must be for him to pull on that jersey.
Now, it’s about working hard behind the scenes and impressing those coaches ahead of a potential debut. Will Varane play against Southampton this weekend? I’m not so sure, but he’s definitely been registered in time for this one.
Beating out Victor Lindelof is not going to be easy in the slightest. The Ice Man was excellent at the weekend, so I wouldn’t be surprised if our new Frenchman is made to work hard to force his way into the team.
Solskjaer has often opted for the cautious approach, so as of right now, I’m going to assume Varane will be on the bench against Southampton, rather than a starter.
