Pictures: Man United squad in training ahead of Europa League final

Manchester United’s big day is here, with less than 10 hours to go until the Europa League final vs Villareal.

Make absolutely no mistake about it, this is going to be a super-difficult game. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United may well be favourites but Villareal must not be underestimated.

United come into the game on the back of a decent victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers last time out, with the whole first XI rested – so our players should be feeling fresh.

The lads touched down in Gdansk, Poland on Monday and began to work on their preparation for the big game almost immediately. Yesterday, the squad was put through their paces in training.

The likes of Edinson Cavani and Paul Pogba were included in the session, as were youngsters like Anthony Elanga, Shola Shoretire and Amad Diallo. It’s a really nice blend of youth and experience, which is exactly what you need in any squad that has serious trophy aspirations. Thanks to @ManUtd for the snaps.

As we covered yesterday, both Anthony Martial and Phil Jones were the only senior faces who didn’t travel as they have injury issues. This morning, though, it looks as if Harry Maguire isn’t going to be fit enough to play as he didn’t take part in the evening training session.

That leaves Solskjaer with a massive selection dilemma at the heart of our defence, with the choice a straight-up one between Axel Tuanzebe and Eric Bailly.

As fans, all we can ask for is that these players give it absolutely everything they have to go out there and win the trophy. You need a bit of luck, you have to remain fully focused throughout and there can be no room for silly errors. Play to your capability and do your job. Win or lose, if you give it your all, us supporters will welcome you back to Manchester with open arms.

Come on, Reds!
