Manchester United have been in superb form over the last few weeks, with Louis van Gaal’s side slowly but surely adapting to the Dutchman’s much-maligned philosophy. One man who has taken to the tactics of the Iron Tulip more than most is Chris Smalling.
Smalling turned 26 today, and what a weekend it has been for the England international. He captained Manchester United from the first whistle for the first time this weekend, and he has been without doubt our best player all season-long.
He celebrated his birthday ins tile, as he and plenty of his teammates were spotted out in Manchester. Amongst the continent was Bastian Schweinsteiger fresh off his heroics, Luke Shaw without crutches and Memphis Depay sporting another unusual outfit.
Lets not forget it is also Marouane Fellaini’s birthday today too, so we wish him all the best.
