Louis van Gaal has come in for plenty of criticism this season, and most of it has more than been deserved. However one thing the Iron Tulip needs to be praised for is his willingness to trust and persist with youth products. A whole host of which have been given their chances this term.
Today, Manchester United announced that four of those players had been awarded trophies from the Premier League, after they have come through the youth system at Manchester United.
Marcus Rashford, Cameron Borthwick-Jackson, Donald Love and James Weir were all presented with awards this afternoon, and its great to see their achievements recognised.
Its never easy to break through into the first-team, and for this many players to do it in such a short space of time shows just how good the academy is over at the Aon Training Complex.
Hopefully this is a sign of things to come after somewhat of a baron spell over the last few years – but its clear we have some real stars on our books at the moment, and long may it continue.
