Pictures: Mourinho & agent spotted leaving hotel minutes within each other

Manchester United Football Club’s current captain is Wayne Rooney. The 31-year-old from Croxteth has had a mixed season, despite winning an EFL Cup winners medal and also surpassing Sir Bobby Charlton in the all-time top scorers list.

His performances on the pitch haven’t been all that impressive. Rooney’s touch has looked heavy, his pace has been nonexistent and all-in-all, he just hasn’t looked up to the task. That has led to doubts about his long-term future at Old Trafford, and rightly so.

Now today, the Daily Mail claim that Mourinho and Rooney’s agent, Paul Stretford, were spotted leaving the Lowry Hotel in Salford Quays, just minutes after one another.

According to the report from The Mail, it was purely coincidental as they didn’t discuss Rooney’s future, but to me, it seems weird that he was even in town if he wasn’t here to discuss contractual matters with his client.

As a lifelong fan, it has been absolutely heartbreaking to watch such a dramatic fall from grace. It wasn’t that long ago that this young man was one of the best in the business – scoring goals for fun and helping his team to countless trophies.

However, I feel that the time is right to let him go. The only issue will be why would anyone want to buy him? He just doesn’t look good enough to cut it at the top level any longer.
