Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Sir Dave Brailsford have both been pictured meeting the United manager and players this morning.
Manchester United now have new people in charge of footballing operations. Sir Jim Ratcliffe will control everything, despite only owning 25% of the club. He’s already brought his people in place – including Sir Dave Brailsford, who was the mind behind British Cycling’s great success a decade or so ago.
The Old Trafford club are hoping that these two men can kickstart this new regime, both on and off the field, returning to United back to their former glories as a result.
From minute one, the impression we all received was that both Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Sir Dave Brailsford would be far more hands on than the Glazer family. This morning, we’re seeing that come into fruition.
The pair were pictured in and around the training ground, meeting Erik ten Hag, both the Men and Women’s first-teams, while also shaking hands with some club legends like Kath on reception.

This is exactly how it should be. Sir Jim Ratcliffe is approaching this like a fan, first and foremost, reiterating his desire to succeed with the club he supported as a boy.
As supporters, this is exactly what we want to see. No hiding away in your Florida mansions, refusing to offer the fans any contact, and just sitting there collecting their paycheque. Yes, the Glazer family are still profiting heavily off United, but the fact that they’re no longer in control of footballing operations is absolutely a step in the right direction.
I’m just so pleased to see SJR and SDB checking out the AON Training Complex, meeting everyone and giving off genuinely positive vibes at this early stage of their tenure.
Long may it continue.
