Say goodbye to the Europa League. Manchester United beat Ajax 2-0 in what turned out to be a comfortable game for the Red Devils. Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan provided the goals in a match that we controlled throughout, and what a feeling it was to lift the trophy.
To be in a European final is one thing, but to lift that trophy after everything that has gone on this week felt extra special. I guess it felt like it was written in the stars that we’d deliver this trophy for Manchester.
Jose Mourinho and his players turned up, and even if it give the families of Manchester just a couple of hours away from the madness of this week, then that can only be viewed as a positive step going forward.
