Player Ratings: Anthony Martial spectacular as Man United beat CSKA Moscow 4-1

David de Gea – Made a couple of crucial saves in the first half. The best in the business, in my opinion. 7/10

Ashley Young – Once again he was very efficient on that right-hand side of the defence. Subbed in the second half, presumably to keep him fresh. 6/10

Eric Bailly – Put his head on absolutely everything just as you’d expect. 6/10

Chris Smalling – Played in the middle of the three and was solid. The system seemed to suit him. 6/10

Victor Lindelof – Having that extra body back there certainly help with Lindelof’s nerves. It was a good outing for the young Swede. 6.5/10

Daley Blind – Not too bad at left-back tonight. Actually got forward more than we’ve become accustomed to. 6/10

Nemanja Matic – Just brilliant. He controls the middle of the park single-handedly. Played a sublime ball into Matteo Darmian that took my breath away in the second 45. 7/10

Ander Herrera – Nice to see him start again. He played well without really having to work too hard. 6/10

Henrikh Mkhitaryan – Scored his goal and kept us ticking over nicely. Another accomplished display from the Armenian. 7/10

Anthony Martial – Three assists and one goal. Wow. He must’ve been an absolute nightmare to mark this evening. His game was ended early with what seemed like an injury. I hope it isn’t serious. 9/10

Romelu Lukaku – Scored twice, one of which was an absolute gift. He’s just lethal. 8/10

Subs:

Jesse Lingard – Made some brilliant runs. Probably should have hit the back of the net with his first touch.

Matteo Darmian – Came on and looked composed.

Marcus Rashford – Didn’t really get into the game.
