Player Ratings: Arsenal 2-0 Man United – Reds wasteful in defeat

David de Gea – Dropped an absolute clanger for the Arsenal opener. His kicking was poor. 3/10

Ashley Young – Not too bad defensively, but his passing forward was average. 5/10

Chris Smalling – Defended well for the most part. 6/10

Victor Lindelof – His worst game in a few months. The Ice Man looked nervous and shaky. 4/10

Luke Shaw – I don’t think he was bad at all. 5/10

Nemanja Matic – Started slowly but grew into the game. You expect that after only just returning from injury. 5/10

Fred – Showed glimspes of what he can do. Great with the ball at his feet and his passing was pretty good. It was encouraging. 6/10

Paul Pogba – Played some nice passes but on the whole, he just couldn’t get into the game enough. 4/10

Diogo Dalot – Pretty decent, I thought. Offered himself as an outlet and worked hard. Unfortunate to be subbed off. 5/10

Romelu Lukaku – Brilliant up until the finish. A real shame. 5/10

Marcus Rashford – Struggled. Held onto the ball too long, his passing was wayward and his finsihing wasn’t great either. 3/10

Subs:

Anthony Martial – Quiet.

Mason Greenwood – Didn’t really get into it. Not enough time to mark.
