Player Ratings: Arsenal 3-0 Manchester United

David de Gea – Couldn’t do anything about all three goals. Largely untested thereafter. 5/10

Matteo Darmian – Had a nightmare. Alexis Sanchez bullied him all game long. Easily his worst performance in the red shirt. 2/10

Chris Smalling – Didn’t do an awful lot wrong to be fair. 6/10

Daley Blind – Got lost on a couple of occasions. His inexperience at centre-back was exploited massively. 4/10

Ashley Young – Struggled to get forward and was terrorised in defence. 4/10

Michael Carrick – Played plenty of poor passes which is completely out of character. 3/10

Bastian Schweinsteiger – Had a woeful first half, improved dramatically in the second but not by much. 5/10

Memphis Depay – Hooked at half-time and rightly so. He wasn’t a threat whatsoever and this poor spell in the league continues. 4/10

Wayne Rooney – Once again poor. Struggled to find a red shirt, couldn’t keep hold of the ball and was extremely ineffective. 3/10

Juan Mata – Went missing for large portions of the match. 4/10

Anthony Martial – Perhaps the only bright spark. Looked lively, wasn’t afraid to have a go and unlucky not to get himself on the score sheet. 6/10

Subs:

Antonio Valencia – Offered something Matteo Darmian couldn’t.

Marouane Fellaini – On the whole did quite well.

James Wilson – Not enough time to mark.
