Player Ratings as Man United thump Everton 4-0 (pre-season 2021/22)

David de Gea – Nice to see him back out there. Had a pretty routine afternoon. 6/10

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – Bossed it in the one-on-one battle. Won tackles galore and tried to get forward. 7/10

Victor Lindelof – Had a great hour of football. Defended well throughout. 6/10

Harry Maguire – Lovely to have him back. Scored a bullet header and led by example. 7/10

Luke Shaw – Played in a brilliant cross for his captain to head home. Looked as sharp as ever. 7/10

Nemanja Matic – Protected his defenders well. Played some nice balls forward. 6/10

Bruno Fernandes – Scored an outrageous free-kick to wrap up the win in the first half. Looked sharp. 7/10

Donny van de Beek – He was pretty steady, but the confidence looked to be there. 6/10

Daniel James – Ran up and down the wing all game long. His final ball was a real mixed bag. 6/10

Mason Greenwood – Set United on their way by capitalising on a bad error from Pickford. Did well. 7/10

Anthony Martial – It had been a while since we’d seen him. Hopefully, he can kick on this year. 5/10


Juan Mata – Oozed class. Showed some lovely bits of skill.

Brandon Williams – Solid.

Fred – Kept the midfield ticking over nicely.

Andreas Pereira – Got forward wherever possible.

Paul Pogba – The minutes in the tank will no doubt serve him well going forward.

Axel Tuanzebe – Calm and composed as per usual.

Diogo Dalot – Very bright and full of confidence. Got his just deserts with a lovely header in injury time.

Scott McTominay – Came on at centre-back and did a decent job.

James Garner – Nice to see him get 20 minutes on the Old Trafford pitch.
