David de Gea – Had a decent game and made a few good saves. Couldn’t do anything about either goal. 5/10
Brandon Williams – Struggled, particularly with the ball at his feet. Couldn’t keep up with the pace of play, which can be acquitted to a lack of minutes. We all know he’s better than what he showed today. 3/10
Eric Bailly – Had problems with Vardy and Iheanacho and his distribution wasn’t great at all. 3/10
Axel Tuanzebe – Comfortably United’s best defender. Looked calm and confident. Made a few massive blocks. 6/10
Alex Telles – Played some nice crosses into the box and won several headers. Far better than he was against AS Roma. 6/10
Nemanja Matic – A tale of two halves. Played great in the first 45, but came out a completely different player in the second half – during which he was pretty awful. 4/10
Donny van de Beek – I don’t want to pile on a guy who is struggling at the moment, but I’m still not quite sure what he’s good at? He has a tendency to pass the ball backwards far too often for my liking. 3/10
Juan Mata – It was nice to see him out there, but he’s just too slow for the modern-day game. Did play some nice passes, but that was about it. 5/10
Anthony Elanga – I felt like he grew into the game. It was his first involvement at this level so it understandably took him some time to find his feet. He did look sharp, though. 5/10
Amad Diallo – United’s most threatening player. He made some lovely runs and bursts forward. Also worked his socks off defensively. I really enjoyed watching him work. 6/10
Mason Greenwood – Absolutely lethal when given a sniff of an opportunity. 5/10

Marcus Rashford – Ran down too many blind alleys.
