Player Ratings: Cambridge 0-0 United

75 places in the footballing tables separated today’s teams, as United headed south to League 2 Cambridge United. Despite the huge gap in the quality of the squads, the sides could not be separated as Cambridge earned an Old Trafford replay.

David de Gea: Flapped at a cross early on but not a great deal to do in the game. 7/10

Antonio Valencia: Got forward down the right but was sloppy at times. Needed to get the ball into the box quicker from advanced positions. 6/10

Phil Jones: Playing as part of a back 4 as well as being on corner duty. Some shaky moments and bad passes in the first half. Little to do in the second half. 5/10

Marcos Rojo: Playing up against some physical players, and performed excellently. One of the only players to come out of the game with a good performance. 8/10

Daley Blind: Back at left back, not his finest performance. Some sloppy passes and passed up the opportunity to get the ball into the box early enough. 6/10

Michael Carrick: Did ok but needed to get Uniter moving quicker. Protected the back 4 well though. 6/10

Marouane Fellaini: A passenger. Far too wide for my liking and was booked for a clumsy tackle. 4/10

Adnan Januzaj: Probably the best performance of the season from the Belgian. Composed on the ball. Again, needed to move it quicker though at times. 7/10

Angel Di Maria: £59.7m player….blended in to look average against Cambridge. Not his day at all. 4/10

James Wilson: Invisible. Didnt get the service though and little space to get in behind the Cambridge back line. 5/10

Radamel Falcao: Like Wilson, had little service. Had to drop too deep and out of a dangerous position to get the ball. Had one great chance which was well created but saved by the keeper. 6/10

Substitutes
Ander Herrera: Changed the game. His movement and passing increased the pressure on the Cambridge goal. Needs to be starter in most matches, adds a great energy to the play. 7/10

Robin van Persie: Spurned a great opportunity within seconds of his introduction but got too much on the ball and fired over. Not much other service. 6/10

Luke Shaw: A late change and little time to mark.

So United have to do it all again at Old Trafford in a few weeks time. They need to be more adventurous and incisive. Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below
